In a global context St. Peter and St. Paul, Churchstanton, would be considered of very little, if any, importance but it epitomises the deeply felt emotions of a small group of bell ringers in Somerset.
Members from Corfe joined with Churchstanton to remember all those who have died both defending this beautiful country of ours as well as in the service of the Queen.
With muffled bells, ringing commenced at 10.30 finishing with the tolling of the tenor before the two minute silence. There then commenced prayers led by Geoffrey Berry who then read out the names of the fallen within the parish starting with 1854, the Crimean War. Also remembered were those killed and injured during the present conflicts as well as their families and friends, that they may find solace and peace during these turbulent times.
